The Starrett Fast Cut Bi-Metal Hole Saws are engineered for efficiency and durability in cutting through various materials. These saws feature a 5.5 TPI (teeth per inch) constant pitch tooth design, which is optimized for faster and smoother cutting. The incorporation of extra cobalt into the high-speed steel teeth enhances the saws' metal cutting performance, making them particularly suitable for working with stainless steel and mild steel sheets. Additionally, they can handle tubes with wall thicknesses of up to 1/8 inch (approximately 3mm). The saws are designed to achieve a maximum cutting depth of 1-5/8 inches (41mm), ensuring they can tackle a broad range of applications.

The Fast Cut series stands out for its new tooth material and design, which significantly increase heat and wear resistance, thus extending the product's lifespan. This design not only provides a smoother and faster cut across a variety of materials but also offers 30% extra gullet volume for improved material penetration. While these saws are ideally suited for cutting metals, they are also capable of cutting through wood, plastic, plaster, and other materials, recommended for cutting depths up to 13mm (1/2 inch) in softer materials.
